The Hoxie Lady Mustangs hosted the volley ball match with the Truman Lady Wildcats with all teams
having a match. The 7th grade Lady Mustangs won their match with scores of 21/6 and 21/8; the Jr. High
Lady Mustangs B team also won their games with scores of 23/12 and 25/8; the Jr. Lady Mustang
A team were defeated by the Lady Wildcats with scores of 10/25 and 22/25; the Lady Mustang Sr.
Girl's B team won with a score of 25/21 and the Lady Mustang Sr. Girls A team won their
matches three games straight with scores of 25/22, 25/17 and 25/22.

of 11/25 in favor of the Lady Mohawks in the Jr Girls division and scores of 25.23, 19/25, 20/25 and 16/25
giving the match to the Lady Mohawks.

minimum, even with the numerous calls by the
refs against the Mustangs
through out the game that were highly contested by the Mustang
fans that had

at Sexton Field that ended with a score of 30 to 0 in favor of the Marked Tree Indians.
The Bobcat's Homecoming Court was presented and escorted by Bobcat players
as the entered Sexton Field. The Homecoming Queen and her court were seated
on a reserved stage just to the north of the home side bleachers on the track during the game.

7th grade team resulting with a score of 18 to 16 in the Southerner's favor, the JR B game resulting
in a score of 26 to 0 in the Mustang's favor and the Senior High JV with a ending score of 12 to 0
in favor of the Batesville Southerners.

face to face on the grid iron. No longer will the rivalry feed the bleachers with
anxious fans on both sides of the field since Pocahontas will no longer be in the
same Football Conference as Hoxie. The Mustangs over came the Redskins
with a score of 28 to 13 in the last quarter, ending the long time excitement when
ever these two teams met.

with a resulting score of 32 to 18 in the Bobcat's favor. The ninth grade boys toe'ed
the line and scored the first touch down of the game with several more to follow. The Cave City
Cavemen appeared to start a come back in the second half but was cut short with
the Bobcat's defenses and over ran by the offense team.

Thunderbirds on their last game
of the season. It wasn't the Bobcat players, their fans nor any of the Thunderbird's fan's fault that the
game was forfeited, but rather the lack of referees that didn't show for the game. Whether a break
down in communications or what ever the cause will be blamed, the forfeiture of the game will remain foremost
in the 2006 Bobcat Football Team's memory as well as their fans as the game that never was. The beginning of
the evening started with the presentation of the Seniors of 2006 that were Cheerleaders, Football Players and
members of the Walnut Ridge Bobcat Marching Band. Awards and accomplishments were announced and the
fans were settling in for a anticipated game of football. Bobcat supporters were gathering on the field to usher their
team onto the field for the start of the game as the Bobcat Band played as their band director stopped the music to
hear the announcement from the score box stating that Walnut Ridge forfeited the game due to not having referees
present for the game. As the Cross County fans exited and were receiving their entrance fee refund, the Bobcat Band
situated themselves on the field to present their half time show to entertain the disappointed fans in the bleachers.
The entertainment accumulated in acknowledging the Seniors in the band and the honors they individually had received
over the years of participation in the band. The awaiting fans were treated to the up and coming new Cheerleaders
that had attended Cheerleader Camp recently. The Walnut Ridge Bobcat Cheerleaders led the young girls and boys
in a few practiced cheers to the enjoyment of the crowd. All in all it was one of the best football games that
I've never seen played and a enjoyable occasion even with the disappointment of not seeing the
Bobcat's last football game of the season.

Senior Night where they acknowledged their Seniors on the football team as well as those in the

Mustang Bonfire Pep Rally - Nov 10, 2005
The Hoxie Mustang Booster Club held a bonfire near the football field in preparation and support
as the Mustangs plan their trip to Booneville in the AAA State Play-offs. There was food,
fun, fireworks and much more during the evening.

The Hoxie Mustangs traveled to Booneville to play in the AAA State Play Off and lost to Booneville 35 to 0.
The Hoxie Mustangs struggled with every offensive play they made, almost making several touch downs

teams on the court. Both teams were cheered on by numerous fans through out the afternoon and evening.

in favor of the Bobcats with a last minute basket that won the game.

Lady Bobcats, in their Homecoming Game, played the Lake City's Riverside Lady Rebels down to the wire.
Neck to neck all the way to the last quarter the Lady Rebels pulled ahead and won the game with the score
of 44 to 47, winning in the last few minutes of the game.

Homecoming Royalty and Car Bash The Walnut Ridge Jr Bobcats were defeated by the Jr Rector Cougars
with a score of 23 to 27. The Homecoming royalty was presented to the community in a formal setting with the
Homecoming Queen, Alexa Smelser; Maid of Honor, Jennifer Roacho; Senior Maid of Honor, Kim Morris; Junior
Maid of Honor, Courtney Allen, Sophomore Maid of Honor, Jessica Osbaha and Freshman Maid of Honor,
Amber Caldwell all escorted by Walnut Ridge Bobcat players. The Senior Class had a scrap vehicle to use in
their "Car Bash" in a effort to raise money for the Senior Prom later in the year. Students were permitted to clobber
the vehicle with a sledge hammer for a dollar for two swings or five swings for two dollars. It seemed that the
Senior Class may be on their way to fund their Prom.

In the Softball Tournament the following teams competed: Lynn/Strawberry's Hillcrest's Lady
Screaming Eagles versus Ravenden Spring's Oak Ridge Central's Lady Roadrunners with
Hillcrest's Lady Screaming Eagles the victor; Black Rock Lady Zebras versus Mammoth
Springs' Lady Bears, with the Lady Zebra's victorious; Lynn/Strawberry's Hillcrest Lady Screaming
Eagles versus Black Rock Lady Zebras with Hillcrest Lady Screaming Eagles winning The District Championship.
In the Baseball Tournament the following teams competed: Ravenden Springs' Oak Ridge Central
versus Mammoth Springs Bears with Oak Ridge Central being the victor; Oak Ridge Central versus
Biggers Reyno Roadrunners with Biggers Reyno Roadrunners being the victor; Black Rock Zebras
versus Lynn/Strawberry's Screaming Eagles resulting in favor of the Black Rock Zebras. Monday,
April 24, 2006 will pit the Black Rock Zebras against the Biggers Reyno's Roadrunners for the District Championship.

The Black Rock Zebras played the Biggers Reyno Buffaloes at Black Rock in the finials of the
2A East District Tournament of 2006. The Biggers Reyno Buffaloes won the Championship with the
Black Rock Zebras coming in Second.

Hoxie Lady Mustangs hosted the games against Imboden's Sloan Hendrix Lady Grey Hounds
at Hoxie. Both A and B teams competed during the afternoon and evening's games.
Hoxie Mustangs versus Black Rock's Zebras - June 13, 2006
The Hoxie Mustangs hosted the game against Black Rock's Zebras with the Hoxie Mustang Boys (8,9 & 10 yr olds)
losing to the Black Rock Zebras following a close game as well as their second game with a score of 8 to 9 in the
Zebras favor. The Hoxie Lady Mustangs stole the game in the fifth inning coming from a score of 14 to 7 in favor
of the Lady Zebras for a finial score of 15 to 14 in favor of the Lady Mustangs.
Hoxie Mustangs versus Tuckerman Bulldogs - June 16, 2006
Hoxie Mustangs defended their home field against the Tuckerman Bulldogs in baseball and soft ball,
however the softball game was canceled due to bad weather that moved in. The Hoxie Mustangs Boy's
won the game with a score of 4 to 2. The softball game was called off in the fourth inning with a score
of 8 to 6 in favor of the Lady Bulldogs.
Hoxie Mustangs versus Lynn/Strawberry Hillcrest - June 20, 2006
Hoxie High Mustangs hosted four games against Lynn/Strawberry's Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles at Hoxie
Tuesday afternoon, June 20, 2006. The Mustang Jr. Boys lost to the Screamin' Eagles with a score of 4 to 3.
The Jr. Lady Mustangs were defeated by the Jr. Lady Screamin' Eagles with a score thought to be 11 to 4.
The Jr. B Lady Mustangs lost to the Jr. B Lady Screamin' Eagles official score unknown.
Foothills Youth League Tournament - June 24, 2006
Hoxie High School hosted the Foothills Youth League Tournament Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Crider Field.
The Tournament consisted of the following teams: Hoxie Mustangs, Black Rock Zebras, Lynn/Strawberry
Hillcrest and Imboden's Sloan Hendrix. Unfortunately the first couple of games were missed, however after
lunch Hoxie Mustang Pee Wee's defeated the Black Rock Zebras with a score of 6 to 2. Black Rock Zebras
pitted their skills against Imboden's Sloan Hendrix Grey Hounds and won with a score of 8 to 3 in the Zebra's favor.
The Hoxie Mustang White team attempted to defend their home soil against Lynn/Strawberry's Hillcrest Screamin'
Eagles which ended in the Screamin' Eagles's favor with a score of 10 to 0. Black Rock Zebras replayed the
Hoxie Mustangs and won with a score of 8 to 4. The final game for the afternoon pitted the Black Rock Zebras
against the Lynn/Strawberry Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles.
The Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles were proclaimed tournament champions with a ending score of 4 to 1.
Foothills Youth League Tournament Finals - June 27, 2006
Hoxie High School hosted a day's worth of softball involving the following teams and their game scores:
Tuckerman versus Black Rock Lady Zebras with the Lady Zebras winning with a finial score of 10 to 1;
Tuckerman Lady Bulldogs versus Lynn/Strawberry's Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles with a score of 9 to 8
in favor of the Lady Bulldogs; Imboden's Sloan Hendrix Lady Grey Hounds versus Hoxie's Lady Mustangs
with the win going to the Lady Mustangs with a score of 6 to 3; Black Rock Lady Zebras versus Imboden's
Sloan Hendrix with a finial score of 9 to 12 in favor of the Lady Grey Hounds; Hoxie's Lady Mustangs versus
Tuckerman Lady Bulldogs ending with a score of 11 to 3 in favor of the Lady Mustangs; Hoxie's Lady
Mustangs versus Lynn/Strawberry's Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles in the final game that ended with
Hoxie's Lady Mustangs taking the Championship with a score of 10 to 4.
Track Events
Inner Lawrence County Track- May 9, 2006
Hoxie High School was the host for the Inner Lawrence County Track meet, May 9, 2006.
Lynn/Strawberry Hillcrest, Imboden Sloan Hendrix, Black Rock, Walnut Ridge and Hoxie students
tried their skill at various sports/athletics, softball pitch, set ups and the long jump were but a few
of the activities held prior to the weather turning threatening causing the school to usher the students
into their class rooms and or it's safe room. The event was called off due to the weather and scheduled for a week later.
Inner Lawrence County Track- May 19, 2006
Hoxie High School again hosted the finial day of the Inner Lawrence County Track Meet with Sloan Hendrix,
Hillcrest, Black Rock, Walnut Ridge and Hoxie students matching their athletic powers against one another in
friendly competition. It appeared that all the students had a great time during the meet and the weather held out
even with a brief shower cooling the activities and participants down just a bit near the finish of the meet.
